Saw the Space Station and Shuttle Go Over Several Nights Back…

June 30, 2007

They both appeared as fairly bright and large (star/planet) lights moving across the sky (one behind the other). (maybe about the perceived size of the North star) It took about ten seconds for them to go across the night sky (appearing to move a lil faster than a low altitude plane would) They were separated by say 10 of their widths.

Im not at all sure why they appear bright like that. Any Astrology/Science people know why? Reflecting light from?

It was interesting to see that they moved at a steady quick clip across the sky and that I couldnt with a naked eye make out any detail.

It would have be cool to try to zoom and get a pic of that, but Ive found it hard to take a good crisp photo with a 5 Mpix digital camera even of the moon at night. Setting the -eV, light meter(point or multi), the iso and focus (1m or to Inifinity?) is proving trickier than I would have thought. I made a gizmo to attach it to a $150 Walmart telescope.
(Stop laughing..hahah…Maybe some day I can buy a real scope)

Anyone a guru at night time, lunar digital photography…from Earth of course….??

Light noise is a huge pain…Now I know why the Telescope people gripe about that.

Interesting……to have seen this…..
