It’s the tomato stupid!! That’s what needs to be drilled into the restaurant and fast food CEO’s, middle management and certainly the procurement people.
Here’s my take on the state of tomatoes that you get with your meal in the states as of 2007.
Dairy Queen – decent tomato, perhaps a bit small, but decent
Fuddruckers – decent tomato, perhaps a bit small, but decent
McDonalds – so so tomato, we expect better from you
Wendys – usually horrible, not even ripe green celluose of some sort.
I call on all restaurants and fast food eateries to take a big bite of what you are serving for “tomato”, then go find a big ripe red Beefsteak tomato and eat a thick juicy slice of that….and say Hmmm…we should be serving this….. Yes…you are correct!
Please fix!
