Number one, I’m sure there are several of these historical empires that most have never heard of.

Not sure what that says about the educational systems around…

Need to get Eugen Weber (The Western Tradition) to do one of these.

Also, at the end this comes off a lil weird as it gets to the establishment of Isreal as a state.

Some odd extra focus put on Baghdad and Jeruselum which seems at best odd…  Poliitical statement?

McCain Picks Palin as Running Mate

Not Michael Palin from Monty Python…  Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.

Savage was convinced on Friday that McCain and/or his handlers were trying to throw the election.   One bad move after another.  Her lack of experience was cited as making the “electablity” of this ticket weak.

Others have cited her stands on other issues as a plus.   We will see…

More to come as this unfolds.

***  Now the 17 year old daughter is unmarried and 5 months pregnant, but is gonna marry the boy.  Drama?

You just know she is gonna be on The View at some point.  The word “vetting” keeps coming up and with any more “unknown” information or oops…  Then we are back to McCain’s judgement.

But, please…that was lost when he wouldn’t make a commitment to even try to return the invaders… even the incarcerated ones…

So, this will end up as some “who is least liberal?” race.

And NONE of the media… (Not even Savage) is giving Nader a fair shake.   Please, this is a race FULL of novices now.

The State of the Union…

The Democrats did a lot of up and down, standing and clapping for Bush,,, that seemed odd…

Then…. there was Darth and Nancy… Nancy Pelosi had her head down quite a lot… reading the commencement flier?…looking like a whipped pup. She stood and clapped right along with the other Dems…

although…her timing to get up and down always had an annoying delay like the “Applause” sign for the audience was broken.

… then there was President Bush. He kept smirking and seemed just way too giddy.

… In recent speeches, especially the angry Bush ones from the Rose Garden, I keep thinking Bush is gonna bust out,,,
…”Live form New York,,,It’s Saturday Night!!!!!”

One dude in the audience… was Mr. Jowls.

I don’t recall any boos this time. Matter of fact I kept hearing what sounded like drunken frat boys going ….”Hey!!!!!……Ho…
…”Hey!!!!!……Ho……… Hip Hip,,Hoorey,,,,Ho….Hey …. Ho…..

… and then as Bush left, he signed like every person theres lil commencement flier…. He gave out more autographs than LaBron James…. and to mostly Democrats… so these are going on Ebay?

and the Democrat Response from Governor Kathleen Sebelius… Started out nice and calm and stayed so with…
Mr. President… Let’s all get to work… and then just turned into random words from the Thesaurus

Malaysia to Make and Export…”Islamic” Cars

Sometimes news items just leap on the wordpress all by themselves… I guess the other cars of the world just didn’t have enough “bang” for the Buck ….. anymore.

I’m guessing they are using that Pinto design that was ahead of its time.

Looks like they will call this model…the “Proton”.. As names like..
“the Surge”,
“Boom”,
“Bam”,
“Terrorist” and
“Jihad”
were already taken by other car makers…

The features include (and as Dave Barry would say… I swear Im not making this up…)

Proposed by Iran, the collaboration would include installing features in automobiles such as a compass to determine the direction of Mecca for prayers, and compartments for storing the Quran and headscarves.

This whole Iraq war is ugly, but this sickened me even more than usual tonight.

Ahmed al-Janabi, a 45-year-old father of three was shot multiple times in his eyes, and killed for what was on his ID cards. He was a teacher and father of three children. A Sunni.

I expect hellish amounts of public denouncement in outrage from all muslim countries over this, but especially the shiite ones.

Iran president Ahmadinejad is visiting the US. Per the news, he was declined to lay a wreath at the Ground Zero site. This is the guy that supposedly didn’t believe that the halocaust happened. Weird and interesting guy. Dennis Miller referred to him as “AquaVelvaJad”

GE Plastics that made Lexan, a super tough clear plastic that is capable of stopping bullets was recently purchased by a Saudi Arabian company called SABIC. Umm. Maybe that should be checked on too.

Just raising a Spock’s eyebrow at this point…
