Judge Surrick rules on October 24, 2008 to dismiss the case filed by Philip J. Berg in Philadelphia District Court concerning Barack Obama’s birth records and his eligibility to serve as President of the United States if elected.

Interesting interpretation of the first conclusion…   ” Berg lacked standing to bring the suit because he did not face direct harm even if the allegations were true”  This is posted on the University of Pennsylvania School of Law website by Devin Montgomery.  He notes that Berg plans to appeal.

Warren Buffet on Charlie Rose 10/01/08… Hmmm

Ok, Secretary of the Treasury Paulson… former CEO at Goldman Sachs…K

Warren Buffet just made a $5 Billion dollar investment in what’s left of Goldman Sachs… hmmm … K

Charlie and Warren yucked it up with Warren’s message seeming to be that Congress better hurry up and pass that bailout (which $700 Billion might be too small) or credit and market confidence was gonna dry right up.

Hmm,  The Dow was up about 500 Tuesday and only down like 19 Wednesday.

The markets seem relatively calm given all that we’ve been through.

I’m still leaning toward… those that made poor investments in various risky financial instruments, and things related to risky mortgage lending practices, should accept their losses with their wins.

And… some investment banks were allowed to accept their losses and collapse…  hmmm

Now then Senate has added inducements to pass the Bailout Bill (I mean rescue…) of Goldman Sachs?

What oversight?  You mean the Fed Chairman, SEC and HUD secretary?

You didn’t mention that Paulson coulda bought securities of any kind, foreign or domestic.

Umm Charlie, there wasn’t even a compensation cap on Golde Parachutes… just a 20% tax.

now the rate that banks charge each other has gone NEGATIVE… O no… O yes, and instead of getting a rate of return for money… There’ll be a a negative rate of KEEP.

Huh… Yep, instead of receiving a pittance for the money left in your savings each month, now you’ll have to pay the bank monthly if you want to leave that worthless overprinted green in their safe.

*** While rates are obviously not negative…yet…  This is in lampoon of the horrible state of the economy.
