How many days…til Rosie gets the boot?

_______________________________________

This just in…April 25, 2007…Rosie announces that they just couldn’t work out the contract details…Hmmm..So in June 2007?…That makes about 90 days +/- Could Rosie join Imus on some satelite radio gig? Now there would be some drive time radio…

Many are predicting that it’s time for her to go….from The View

Any predictions? All just PR?

Gotta love the Donald!!

**** Thank you all for your comments. Suffice it to say, there are plenty on all sides of this one. I will NOT continue to post them as they bring yet even more comments. This one could be its own blog by itself. I WILL read your comments, just not going to post anymore of these due to time. ****

Thanks for checking out my posting. Check out the latest at http://mrobvious.wordpress.com

Can’t be soon enough for me……….wish I never heard of “The View”
and ALL of the people on it…………….esp. Rosie and Barbara……….
They are garbage pieces of humanity

  2. Hmmm Says:

    Jay,
    Thank you for your thoughts.
I do challenge a few things.

First, Make no mistake, Barbara Walters is a sharp person.
She will (and is) taking all of the publicity (good and bad) to the bank.
The ratings system for shows may drive some unfortunate behavior
from time to time. I give you that.

Second, I will submit that all of us have value. I can certainly think of Rosie during her comic stand-up days on Comedy Central. And a pretty good performance in..”A League of Their Own”.

But I agree with your passion with respect to recent hype on “The View”
It certainly feels like an implosion is possible…

  3. Marsha Wassam Says:

There’s no “gotta love the Donald” here; altho I do respect the Donald and admire his natural talent for business and financial gain. He places far too much importance on his own stereotypical views regarding “beautiful” women, with emphasis on external features rather than internal ones, the masculine devaluation of female internal qualities that shine like diamonds in the dark. Rosie and Barbara are both very SPECIAL women, and I personally find “Jay’s comment” appalling and representative of disrespectful, devaluing conversation, which probably does not accurately reflect the time he has spent in school or higher institutions of learning. These are my own personal opinions, which are probably shared by many women who look forward to watching the View every day. Rosie is a wonderful woman, who happens to be a lesbian. She has the courage to stand up for cultural diversity, and challenges unethical treatment by those who try to discriminate on the basis of gender, race, creed, color, sexual orientation , national origin, or religious preference. Bravo!!! I love you Rosie and Barbara, from one who has been involved in Women’s Studies.

  4. Marsha Wassam Says:

Added: Maybe those who are so “anxiously awaiting” an implosion should reevaluate who might be included in the garbage pieces of humanity.

    Marsha,
    Thank you for your thoughts.

No doubt that Rosie has given a popular celebrity voice to many
issues and concerns during her tenure on The View.
Her recent special on depression was of particular note.
I’m sure she has helped many.

I would not even attempt to moderate a debate on this topic.

Thank God that we still have a tiny bit of freedom of speech left in
the states. I fear a time when that may be so regulated that neither
Jay nor Marsha could sound off as they have.

Also, it is interesting to watch the blog stats as Rosie, George Carlin
and Lovelines/Adam Carolla (all veteran comedians)
generate the most traffic on my site.
